1. What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We use this only to display your profile in the app.

Your scan history and allergen preferences are stored locally on your device (browser localStorage). They are not uploaded to our servers.

We do not collect payment information. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

2. How we use your data

We use your email to:

  • Identify your account
  • Send weekly health reports (if enabled)
  • Respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-party services

Open Food Facts

Product database. Your barcode scans are sent to their API to retrieve product data. No personal data is shared.

Used for sign-in. We receive only your name, email, and photo. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Stripe

Handles subscription payments. We never see or store your card details.

Hosts the application. Standard server logs may be collected.

4. Data retention

Your scan history and allergen settings are stored in your browser and are deleted when you clear your browser data.

If you delete your account, we will remove your email and profile data within 30 days.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Opt out of weekly email reports

6. Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authentication (NextAuth.js). No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

7. Children

FoodScan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice.

9. Refund Policy

All subscription purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law.

If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 7 days of the charge at makyansergey98@gmail.com and we will review your case.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future charges; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
